Circumstances: On March 18, 2024, at approximately 1855 hours, a 51-year-old male from Redding was driving his Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Iron Mountain Road approaching Starvation Road. At the same time, a white or dark grey pick-up truck, pulling a utility trailer, was traveling southbound on Iron Mountain Road approaching Starvation Road. For unknown reasons the pick-up truck crossed into the opposing lane, colliding into the motorcycle rider, subsequently ejecting him onto the roadway. The rider suffered major injuries, and the pick-up fled the scene, southbound on Iron Mountain Road.
