Type of crime: Illegal Fireworks Distribution/Sales

Circumstances: Each year several fires in Shasta County are started from the use of illegal fireworks. In Shasta County, all fireworks are illegal to possess and discharge including the cities of Redding, Anderson, and Shasta Lake. Each year fire agencies expend many personnel hours extinguishing and investigating fireworks caused fires. Fire agencies believe illegal fireworks are often transported into California from other states. These fireworks are classified as “dangerous” and unlawful to possess in all parts of California. Allied agencies of the Shasta Arson Task Force are asking the public to report those individuals distributing or selling fireworks in Shasta County.

Type of crime: Burglary

Up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of the suspect(s).

Circumstances: On May 06, 2022 the Redding Police Department received a report of a burglary near the Shasta County Juvenile Hall at 2680 Radio Lane in Redding, CA. During the burglary, 3 Stihl chainsaws, 2 Stihl weed trimmers, 2 Stihl handheld leaf blowers, and 1 Stihl hedge trimmer were stolen. Two white male adults were observed in the area after the burglary occurred.
