Circumstances: Since May of 2019, approximately 5 intentionally set fires have occurred in the south Cottonwood area. These fires seem to be centered south of Front Street and north of Cottonwood Creek. Most of these fires have occurred during hours of darkness and are relatively small in size. The Shasta Arson Taskforce is seeking information to identify the person(s) responsible.

Circumstances: On April 13, 2019 at approximately 1300 hours, a dark colored Dodge pickup, with a lift kit, oversized tires, and chrome rims, drove over several bee boxes in the field area off Poppy Hills Drive, east of Twin View Blvd. The vehicle returned again at approximately 1900 hours and drove over several more bee boxes, causing thousands of dollars’ worth of damage.

Circumstances: On March 24th, 2019, at 1432 hours, Victim
Morgan PINEDA reported to Redding Police that WITCRAFT confronted
her at her home at 2948 Fairway Ave., Redding, regarding “getting into
his business.” WITCRAFT punched PINEDA and brandished a handgun
at her. He threatened to shoot her and that she and her family were
“done.” He then fled the area in the listed vehicle. He was also observed
driving this vehicle during another incident which occurred on 3-1-2019.
Investigators have received information that WITCRAFT is upset about
issues involving his ex-girlfriend Vanessa KIRBY and their child. The
child is living with friends at a safe location. There have been reports
that WITCRAFT is armed with a black handgun, is selling drugs, and is
addicted to drugs and spiraling out of control.
WITCRAFT has a criminal history to include firearms, and was convicted
of 246.3 PC in 2013 as a result of firing a handgun at law enforcement.
An informant also reported that he is a violent person and may shoot at
police. There is currently a Ramey Arrest Warrant for WITCRAFT.

Circumstances: On 6/24/1995, the Redding Police Department investigated a murder that occurred on the Sacramento River Trail. The 37-year-old victim, Christine Munro was found deceased along the Sacramento River Trail, the apparent victim of a homicide. The Redding Police Department is requesting information leading to the identity and arrest of the suspect responsible for this homicide.

Subjects were living in a transient camp on the property and were in a dating relationship. Location: 23429 Cassel Fall River Road, Fall River, CA

Circumstances: On 04/20/18 at approximately 5:00 P.M. Lauralyn Palmer, 70 years old, left her residence to go for a walk with a dog in a wooded area near her residence. Lauralyn was reported missing at 6:39 P.M. and a subsequent extensive five day search of the area was conducted by Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue personnel. Lauralyn was not located, however the dog returned home after three days. Lauralyn has not been seen or heard from since 04/20/18. Due to the suspicious circumstances of Lauralyn not being located after extensive searching, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office is requesting information that may lead to Lauralyn’s whereabouts.

Circumstances: On the morning of 08-07-13, Scarlett Peterson, who was two and a half years old at the time, was severely abused by an adult. Scarlett’s condition deteriorated throughout the day until she was taken, by ambulance, to Mercy Medical Center. She was later transferred to a Sacramento Area where she ultimately died of her injuries. Scarlett’s death was not accidental. It was the result of intentional abuse by an adult.

Circumstances: On 11/02/16, 1751 hours, Sherri Papini, 34 years old was reported as a missing person/ at risk, after she was found to not be home and her cell phone being located near the intersection of Sunrise Drive and Old Oregon Trail.

UPDATE: On 11/24/16, Thursday, Sherri Papini was located in Yolo County near Interstate 5 after she disappeared on 11/02/16 from the area of Sunrise Road and Old Oregon Trail while jogging. Sherri reported she had been taken by two Hispanic women and kept at an unknown location until she was set free on 11/24/16 in the early morning hours. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, Major Crimes Unit is asking for any information leading to the identity and arrest of the responsible.
